Ashley Mills Becher

Your go-to for theatre for young audiences that is: smart, approachable, artistic, and FUN!

Hey there!

A story as unique as its characters...

We met in South Korea in 2012, working as Edutainers at Gyeonggi English Village (now English Musicals Korea), where we honed our skills as actors and creators. In Korea we performed in 11 shows together, and since returning to the U.S. in the summer of 2014, have continued that pattern, with our joint contracts in the double digits. We've also launched our own TYA company WhatFun! Theatre, which strives to bring quality family friendly productions to communities around the country. As both performers and creators, we pride ourselves on providing not only a quality product, but a quality experience, bringing our positivity, can-do attitudes, open-minds and hearts, and spirit of blissful collaboration to every process. While we do accept separate projects, we truly believe we are #bechertogether, and prioritize joint contracts. We hope you enjoy a glimpse into our little world.

"Bobby & Ashley are collaborative, creative, prepared, organized and passionate." -Daniel DP Sheridan; Artistic Director Junior Theatre INC.

and we're off -

always a wild ride!

2020 was obviously a crazy year!!

Together our lost contracts were in the double digits, but we were also blessed with so many new creative opportunities, and got to really connect to the Quad City community!

Last summer, we partnered with Circa '21 to launch Rising Stars, an advanced theatre education program for middle and high school students. After a successful summer intensive, we continued with fall and spring classes. We have LOVED getting to work with these inspiring students.

In August, we produced some exciting projects in the Circa '21 Speakeasy. We had a blast working with local performers from several area theatres to create Broadway Backwards: a miscast cabaret, and we also donned our cowboy hats and performed our updated Rapunzel in the Wild West.

We were able to return to teaching at Davenport Junior Theatre, virtually, and in person. We also mentored the student directors for their first virtual show, Snow White 2.Zoom, and Bobby directed the second virtual show, Alice in Wonderland

We learned new skills developing 2 successful virtual concerts for Circa '21 - Home for the Holidays where we were able to feature performers who had been contracted for the shows that were shut down at Circa, and our awesome Rising Stars students, and a cooperative Valentine's show, Let's Fall in Love that featured theatre couples from many QC theatres.

We have an exciting summer planned, after music directing Elephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play, Bobby will finally get to do Saturday Night Fever, the show that got shut down in March of 2020 at the Circa '21 mainstage. Along with joining the SNF cast, Ashley is the Director/Choreographer for Newsies! at Countryside Community Theatre.

This holiday season we will finally get to appear as married couple Greg and Jan in their premier of Winter Wonderland, and Ashley will be directing and choreographing Bobby as Horton in Seussical for their TYA series.
